How important is the status of the hotel you are to stay in for business?

If you are to attend a prestigious event and will be paying your own way for accomodations would you choose a fancy 4 star hotel to create a good facade or would you go with a decent budget hotel to save on money?

What is your def. of prestigious -- pompous? You go with whatever is convenient. if the budget hotel places you outside the city you need to get to, then that is not practical.

Also, what do you need to get a good nights sleep b4 the meeting? I stopped at a cheap dump in Binghamton NY and there was a party going in the dance room until 4AM!!!

quite frankly I rarely stay at a 4 star hotel unless I have no choice. I have found that there are many good hotels with excellent service that are 3 star. I generally do not stay at 2 star hotels because they lack some of the amenities that I require. If you are self-employed spend money carefully. Remember, although most of what you spend on business is tax deductible the IRS doesn't like to see very large outlays of cash on your return. You can do it but you may be questioned. It is your money!

It is important to know how many peoples will invite you in hotel.

If it is no one, I believe it is better to save your money and lock for a shipper.

If you have somebody to pay every thing you should spend in a business travel, it is better to stay in the best.
