Well, first of all, if you do not have a credit card then you will have to pay each night upfront, in cash and a bit more for potential extras like the phone, movies,etc.. If you do not charge anything to the room they will refund that amount. No one is required by law to have a credit card (thank goodness) so no hotel can require a credit card.
I've never reserved in advance without a credit card so I'm not sure how or if that is do-able.
As far as age, the chains might have regulations to follow but the unique hotels will have more flexibility.
You absolutely have to have a credit card for all "incidentals". I rented rooms in Texas when I was your age, so age won't be a problem for you.
If you have a hotel in mind, call them ahead of time and find out what their policy is about payment... many just want the security of a credit card for payment, and it doesn't necessary have to be your card.
The 4 or 5 Star ones usually require a CC. Hotels like Days Inn allow you to stay under 21. I stayed @ one when I was 20: you just need a photo ID. The bigger & nicer ones like Hampton Inn, Hilton, Sheraton & Marriott require a CC .
My question is why are you getting married @ 19. That is way too young. You'll be divorced within a few years. It won'tt last. I waited until I was 21 & the jerkhead STILL cheated on me.
I'm pretty sure that nowadays you must have a credit card to rent a hotel room.
I did it at age 18 without a credit card, but that was back in the winter of 1978. Times have changed.
Oh, and congratulations on the upcoming wedding!
Most hotels in Texas DO require a credit card. The minimum age is 18. In Texas the owner does have the right to refuse service to anyone.
Your best bet would be to find a place you like and email them about their policy's.
18 is the minimum age and you don't have to have a credit card or debit card.
some hotels charge a 200 deposit for everyone under 25 so watch out for that
ALTEST 19 AND UP!
