There are not many unsafe areas in Lisbon, and those few areas probably don't have any hotels. But if they do, avoid Intendente, Martim Moniz, Anjos and Chelas. I would also not recommend staying at the Bairro Alto quarter, it's very noisy at night and scuffles occur sometimes.
I stayed at the Tryp Oriente Hotel in Lisboa. It is located in the Park of Nations. Very modern and very very safe. The Vasco de Gama shopping center is nearby plus the Gare de Oriente Station which has all transportation, buses, taxis, trains and aslo the underground metro. Here is the link to the hotel------> http://www.solmelia.com/solNew/hoteles/jsp/C_Hotel_Description.jsp?codigoHotel=5827
Have fun and enjoy yourself!!!!!
Hi.
Avoid INTENDENTE. That is red light area.
You should be fine if you stay in any hotel at Av.da Liberdade, Rossio, Restauradores.
lisbon is like any other big city. arrange night tour of the city with bigger groups or something. Avoid also "bairro alto" and "Parque Eduardo VII" Have fun
