What do you need in order to rent a hotel room?

i live in DALLAS. and i was wondering if anyone would recommend any hotels that i could rent with CASH and im 18. also, im flying my boyfriend in from another state, and his parents would be happy to rent the room and pay with a credit card, but there not coming along on the trip. so would a hotel allow for him to stay there alone?

It's hard to reserve a room without a credit card.

If you show up, you should have no problem reserving a room providing there's a vacancy. But, there's your age. You'll have to call to area motels that you want to visit and see their policy regarding age. They may not want ot rent to someone 18.

If his parents are booking the room on their card for their son, it shouldn't be any problem. You might do a google search for nice motels near the area you think you'd want him to be in and give them a few choices, low to high.

Don't pick a motel in the middle of no where that you can't go anywhere without driving. Pick a motel with good cable, nice appointed rooms and possibly a pool. Don't go for the cheapest; he'll be miserable.

Look the motels up, send it along to his parents, see what they think and there shouldn't be any problem.

All hotels are required by law if they rent a room at least one form of ID. Hotels have rented rooms. To other people with others Id. so if there is any damage they know where to go.

But like the others say call and ask

I would say yes. Of course, the parents can pay by credit card over the phone. Whatever works for you.

As long as its already been reserved and paid for, all they should need is a drivers license. Most of the time when I reserve a hotel room, they always ask for the credit card again along with my drivers license.

if the room is pay for yes but it has to be with a credit card

why does an 18 yo need a hotel room?

most hotels will not rent to you due to insurance requirements

maybe maybe not - typically they will want a credit card for a deposit or damage deposit too.

You're there - call around and ask.

OR - if there is a chain near you that is also near his parents - you used to be able to pay at one hotel for a night in a different one of the same chain.

Most places won't rent to you till your 21. If they do allow 18, they will want probably a $200.00 Deposit or Credit/Check card pre-authorized for the Deposit amount. When you turn 21 all they will need is a Credit/Check card.

this should help ya out. good luck!
