When you look for a hotel in Vegas consider this. For the most part all of the big hotels on the Strip are great. The most important things to consider are location and price. So, stay on the strip in the center of all of the hotel locations so that you can walk to see all of the hotels and casinos, and all of the free attractions.

The best place to stay to do that is in one of the hotels on or nearest to Flamingo Rd & the Strip. At that corner is Caesars Palace, Bellagio, the Flamingo, Ballys, and the Paris hotels. I am not saying you need to stay in one of these but stay close to them. I do recommend the Flamingo, Harrahs, and the Monte Carlo hotels if you are looking for a good price, location and pool. Also consider the Imperial Palace.
The next thing to consider in picking the BEST place is price. Rates go down in the summer (and again after Thanksgiving, until about mid-January (except new years eve when prices double)). So pick a place that has the best price for you. Caesars, Wynn, The Venetian, and Bellagio will cost top dollar all of the time (like $150 and up) per night during the summer. The Flamingo, Ballys Monte Carlo, and some others you can get into for around $100 (but most times for less) during the low seasons. Its also more expensive in all Vegas hotels on Friday and Saturday nights by $40 to $60 more. So to get a lower rate plan to go to Vegas on Sunday and stay through Thursday night.
I have stayed at Mandalay Bay, Excalibur, Paris, MGM, Monte Carlo, Bellagio, Caesars, the Rio, the Flamingo, Ballys, and Harrahs. But the BEST place for me when I go is who has the best price. Again, all of the Strip hotels are great. So shop the web sites, look at the hotel rate calendars, and go when the price is the lowest. That's the best place to stay on the Strip.
You can probably get lower priced rooms at the Circus Circus, Stratosphere, the Sahara and the Rivera on the north end of the Strip; the Tropicana and Hooters on the south end; and also at the hotels on Fremont Street. The Tropicana is one of the older hotels that has not been renovated like many others;its actually in bankruptcy right now. All of these hotel locations will place you a long way from the center of the strip action and youâ™ll have to take a bus or taxi to Strip action. In addition, if you need to run to the room for a little R&R, itâ™s a long ways.
So shop the hotel web sites below, like MGM, Harrahs, etc and compare rates and dates to find the best rate on dates when you can travel to Vegas. I go to Vegas often and that's what I do to find the best hotel.
Best hotel for the price?
Flamingo for sure! It's right in the middle of strip so you are close to everything. The rooms are clean and comfy and with the economy being what it is you could prob upgrade to a GO! Room for cheap.
The hotel itself is 4star if not mistaken and has decent amenities including it's awesome pools. But again think best thing about hotel is it's location on the strip. Best intersection as it is right across from Ceasars for shopping and PURE nightclub. Being that it is center strip you are never far from the fun/excitement
My suggestions: Imperial Palace, Harrahs, Tropicana, Flamingo (a little bit more expensive than the others), Riviera, Sahara, Luxor, Excalibur and the Stratosphere. I would stay at one on the south part of the Strip. That elimates the Riviera, Sahara and the Stratosphere. The south end is where most the stuff is happening.
I'm really surprised that nobody has mentioned Monte Carlo. It has a great location and some of the most competitive prices and promotions of the strip hotels. It is right next door to New York New York which is a great spot to party hard.
I stayed at MC a few weeks after they reopened from the fire and felt that I was in the safest hotel in Vegas from all of the safety inspections and reviews that took place! The staff is great and the slots paid out for me!
I see 8 different promos for the MC currently running on the site below:
I find EXCALIBUR hotel the cheapest to stay at on the strip. When me and my husband planned a quick trip to vegas..we always choose Excalibur because it's a decent hotel, right on the strip..walkway to Luxor/mandalay bay. And it's not too expensive. You should also try their steakhouse there. It's pretty good.
And if you like seafood and want food from all around the world "RIO hotel" has 2 buffet. 1 seafood buffet and the other buffet serves food from many places..
Best value is Luxor. The spa suites are very affordable. Best location is Harrah's or Bill's Gambling Hall, but not as romantic. Because you're 21 you may dig Planet Hollywood, Hard Rock Hotel or the Palms. The crowd is young and quite friendly at all of these places.
Have fun in LV!
i would recomend mirage you can get a decent room rate for about $129 a night they are remodeling most of there rooms which if you do not mind a little construction which you will not hear you can have a very good time and you are less then a 1/2 mile to a mile from everything
I stayed at the Imperial Palace for only $16 a night but that was in January. Worth checking out if you want something inexpensive.
