How can i find out what hotel a hockey team is staying at in Toronto? Anywhere/one i can call to find out?

I am looking to go to the team hotel to obtain autographs, but i have no idea where i could call/ email/ whatever to find out.

I KNOW they all stay at the Fairmont Royal york on 100 Front street west, (alot of times these hotels will not let fans stay to meet players unless they are actually staying at the hotel. This hotel is in the 'LUXURY' section of my travel guide ( I've been to T.O. a few times....& this is the best guide I've found

Insight City Guide 'Toronto' $16.95 but there's 2 isbn numbers... Isbn-13: 978-981-258-403-8

& Isbn-10: 981-258-403-x for anyone that might be interested.)

anyway '''Luxury' means the rooms are more than $200 a night. (if you are staying.) i have stayed at the Delta Chelsea inn on 33 Gerard street west (is from $150-200) (Gordie Howe has stayed there for NHLPA meetings. as well as others)

Try emailing the local newspaper's hockey reporter. Or, try emailing the visiting team's reporter. The only other way I can think of is if you know of any other fans who go to the hotels the teams stay at they might tell you. But all of the people like that that I know are pretty tight-lipped about where to go because they don't want other people coming.

I know stand outside the arena durning their morning skate and then just tail the team bus back to the hotel. Don't worry it won't look like you're a stalker or anything.

Hi, I would like to stalk some NHL players, anyone want to help me out.

Thanks

Is it possible to have space hotel in the near future?

Wouldn't be nice to have space hotel in 21st century. Because it would be a great place for loner like me. Flying above the Earth atmosphere myself.

Maybe in your lifetime if you are young.

Well, the definite answer can only be found in the future. At this point we can only speculate.

But my speculation is yes. I come to this conclusion by looking at our past. It has been just over 100 years ago that man learned to fly. Just last week the new Airbus A380 made its first commercial flight and this baby can transport more than 500 people. Within 100 years flying has went from a theoretical possibility to something almost as common as taking a bus.

Only 50 years ago Sputnik was launched. Until than space was still one big frontier. Within 50 years we have set foot on the moon, shot thousands of satellites around our planet, that do anything from examining the weather or measuring other things to relaying broadcast like TV phone or data. We have a permanent presence in space: ISS, which already has had it's first tourists.

Virgin has founded a company for space tourism: Virgin Space.

All this gives me the distinct impression that it's just a matter of time. Unless something goes terrible wrong and the project is put on hold, I think it's going to happen.

Another point I would like to make is, that besides the fact that it is technically feasible to do it, there is also an economical one: there are people that are willing to pay a large amount of money for this trip. So there is money to be made and this will encourage companies like Virgin to research and develop the means that are necessary for such a mission.

It would be a helluva view, that's for sure. But before you could get a hotel, you'd need some people to colonize that part of space. You especially need plenty of people there to do the usual hotel work of room service, house keeping, etc.

The project itself would be enough of a problem to find funding for any keep going. The amount for a night's stay would have to be ridiculously expensive. They just started making zero-gravity trips (where they take people in a high-atmosphere rocket to experience weightlessness) commercially available, for several grand. Hotels aren't coming too soon.

I heard that if possible, space shuttles in space would be conducive enough for humans to live in. So then they can convert these space shuttles into hotels or even houses. But it's gonna be really costly to ship food and supplies and maintainance...

Yup, scientists have proved that in the future, they can develop space hotels and even space towns in the planets or places that are possible to inhabit.

I am pretty sure that virgin already has designs and plans for a space hotel in later decades. They already have space tourism flights and i know that they are working on a space hotel.

You can call it "The Vomit" or "Vertigo Plaza Hotel". Sounds like just the place to be to get a healthy greenish-gray tint and to lose weight (everyone goes to 0 lbs. as soon as they arrive!).

As for the loner fantasy... you will really enjoy having a phone booth size room for yourself and using that private suction cup in the "toilet", especially after the guy who couldn't quite figure out how to do it right and left that yellowish spray cloud.

Oh... and then the shared hundred cubic meters of common room... cramped with 12 people at a time... just the place to be "alone".

;-)

It depends on how you think a space hotel should be. In a way, the ISS now can be a space hotel already. It has toilets, food, water, bed, TV... and you can stay there quite long times. Anh it's expensive of course.

yeas it would, but we would all die because of global warming efore it happens. sorry.

What is the historical accuracy of Hotel Rwanda?

I am working on a research paper on the Hotel Rwanda film and I need some ideas and sources.

The movie is based on a true story and real events, but keep in mind the movie is a drama and not a defnite non-fiction documentary. Check out these links for info on accuracy:

What Paul Rusesabagina forgot to mention is that if you had no money you wouldnt enter the hotel mille collines and you know what was waiting for you on the outside. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/accuse_write?qid=1006042921304&kid=HYJuJDLBLllaKG8bNHTe&s=comm&date=2008-06-07+15%3A09%3A32&.crumb=

The general idea of the genocide occurring is pretty accurate, but I would avoid believing some of the events shown in the movie, just like any Hollywood movie; as the Rwandese government is actually questioning the validity of Paul Rusesebagina's( the guy whose story the movie is based on)claims of saving the victims of the genocide.

How old do you have to be to rent a room at a hotel?

How old do you have to be to rent a room at a hotel? 18?

Depends on where your trying to get a room, some places 18, some 21. When I joined the Air Force I got stationed in florida i was 19 and I didn't have anywhere to stay. I couldn't find a hotel room that would rent to under 21 so I just slept in my car in a wal-mart parking lot.

Yes. 18 and 21 are the allowed ages. If you are below 21 years old you must check the hotels check-in policies for minimum checkin age (of 18), because some hotels allow only people of 21 years old.

Every place I know of, you have to be 18.

What are some things a 14 year old boy can do in a hotel room?

I'm going with my dad to Los Angeles for 2 weeks, and he's going to be in meetings most of the day. What are some things i could do in the hotel room?

Watch tv, bring a laptop and use the hotels wifi.

try going swiming bring stuff like videogames to keep you entertained bother the doorman(dont it was just a joke)walk around look for kids your ages and tryy to be friends with them just chill and by the way GET ROOM SERVIVE TIMES A DAY(1ce each hour or so or just try 5 times a day)cuz its all included but room service is free and eat in bed have servents do your work ahhhh thats the life your lucky.

hopefully there's a pool with and a life guard, other then that, watch movies, play video games, and talk on your cell phone. Just try to stay out of trouble. hopefully your dad will have some activities planned for nights and weekends.

1. beat off.

2. 'get' a girl up there.

3. make money online.

4. myspace all the time.

5. star in your own pornographic movies.

6. swim a lot.

7. run around everywhere.

8. goof off.

Build a fort.

That is what I did the first day in my college dorm. You would be surprised how many people were like "I thought about it, but you guys did it!".

Bring a xbox or ps2 or go buy a bunch of sports or computer magazines.

o;ijpabo deserves the 5 points! "Star in your own por..." hahaha

Omfg, I can't wait for that one answer...

EDIT: And there it is...

w@nk

dfperson,i knew you were waiting for one too

The hotel room is rather limited. Some of the other posters here are just stirring trouble, although most of the answers are true.

You could check out the pool, or some of the local sights. Bring along a video game system.

How do I reach BP Intl Hotel in HongKong from the HK Intl airport?

How do I get to the BP International Hotel from the HK Int Airport using public transport (not taxi cab)? How much would it cost?

As well as what the first answer said, I would also find out if the hotel does a free pick up service from HK airport.

Quite a few hotels do have a free pick up service.

First, you'll want to buy an Octopus card while you are at the airport. Easy to do . . . go to the information desk at the arrivals hall.

http://www.hong-kong-travel.org/Octopus.asp

Second, you'll want to take Bus A21 (Cityflyer). It goes down Nathan Road. Tell the driver you want to get off near the BP International Hotel. He will let you off at the stop near the corner of Nathan Road and Austin Road. You will have to walk about five minutes. The fare is $33 HKD.

http://www.hongkongairport.com/eng/transport/to-from-airport/bus.html

Enjoy your trip!

at the arrival hall... u headed to the airport express (train). it wil be aro HK$90 i guess for 1 trip. u can purchase a round-trip tix so to save some $. it wil be aro 20 mins to arv at the kowloon station (the terminal wil be HK station). at the kowloon station, u can ride on a free shuttle heading to ur htl. it's totally free & depart every few mins. there's diff buses to diff hotels.... u should take K4 to BP. by the time u head back to the airport....take the same bus again / just wait outside ur htl.

Does the Charoensri Grand Royal Hotel in Udon have Internet connectivity in the rooms?

I know there is an Internet cafe near the hotel, but I wonder if I can connect to the Internet with my laptop in my room.

Thanks!

the royal grand is an over priced hotel, it is a bit run down.

you are better off staying at city lodge, or the irish clock, the irish clock has wifi downstairs for free.

try take a look at http://udonmap.com for better hotels to stay at, I would NEVER stay at charoensri.

further out of town is the president hotel, it may cost the same, but is brand new.

Would you recommend the Bellagio Hotel over the others in Las Vegas?

Planning a trip to Vegas with my wife, father, and his girlfriend. I'd like to hear about anyone's prior experiences (good or bad) with this hotel. Thanks!

I have stayed at several places, and all were very nice My favorite was the Bellagio, the service there is impeccable, I was treated like a king (which I am not) Rooms very spacious, clean and a great view of the strip.

The Bellagio is very large but I had a map and had no problems getting in and out, although I did spend the majority of my time there.

There is much to see at the Bellagio, the O show by Cirque Du Soleil, the Botanical Gardens, The Famous Fountains in Lake Bellagio and the Gallery of Fine art.

And the food, My favorite was Michael Mina (formerly Aqua) Same Chef/Owner, and for our farewell breakfast we spent several hours at the Buffet,

We did not do any shopping but a fair amount of browsing.

If you decide to stay there ask for a lake view room you will not be disappointed.

The only other hotel/casinos that are as nice or nicer is The Wynn and The Venetian.

Have Fun!

Glenn

I love the champagne buffet at the Bellagio, but, I have never stayed there before. I live closeby, so, we usually go for the Flamingo. It's economical and centrally located to Mandalay Bay, Caesar's, Treasure Island and Harrah's.

I think the location of the Bellagio is perfect. Be sure to make reservations to see O. It is unforgettable awesome. We felt that Bellagio was centrally located to see the other main things we wanted to see in Vegas. We have previously stayed at the Ventian...where the rooms were bigger. It was not as centrally located and kind of awkward walking onto the strip from.

I'd say stay at the Bellagio and make sure you get some gellato at the shop in the Bellagio.

Kathy

It's very good. Been there a bunch of times. The ladies will love it. But the guy who built it has now built the Wynn and moved on, so you might want to check that out as well. He moved all his art from the Bellagio to the Wynn.

I prefer the Venetian. Their rooms are larger (all-suite hotel) and just as nice.

I prefer the Luxor, and New York New York.. I think that for the money these 2 places are better.

Have fun were ever you stay. You can get the numbers and call them and see who is running a special. There is always someone running a special in Vegas.

Bellagio is very beautiful! I don't think you would regret staying there : ) I won money in there casino too! My favorites in my price range are Treasure Island and Mandalay Bay. My favorite pricey hotels are Venitian and Bellagio! So if you can afford to stay there do it! Bellagio also has one of the best buffets too!

Beautiful hotel - but pricey. Bring lots of spending money - especially for food!

Comparable to the Venetian and the Wynn in regards to room amenities & price. All three are located within 1/2 mile of each other near the middle of the strip.

Don't waste your time with the north strip - it's run down and trashy. The Freemont Street Experience is also a waste of time.

Hope you enjoy your trip!

the paris hotel or nothing man.

Bellagio is very nice, very expensive. Also just as nice in my opinion is Ceasar's--select the Forum or Augustus Tower; Also Paris Hotel, Mandalay Bay. All of these are exceptional compared to the average hotel anyhwere else. For your first time, Bellagio, Paris, or Ceasar's are all at the same intersection, Flamingo Road/Las Vegas Blvd and that is the best place to stay. You can walk to all of the neighboring hotels, and their shops and never need to drive anywhere else. Ceasar's and Paris both have large indoor high class shopping and entertainment; Bellagio has some high $ shopping but not nearly as much as Ceasar's or Paris. Best thing to see, hands down, though: Bellagio's fountain shows. Amazing. and Free.

I would put Venetian and Wynn above Bellagio. Bellagio is a very nice hotel, but you do not feel in awe when you are in the place, which you do at Venetian and Wynn. Best thing about Bellagio is their show "O" and the buffet.

There is also a beautiful new casino-hotel just 15 minutes off the strip, near the interstate. It's Red Rock Station, part of the Station chain of "local" hotels/casinos. Man, it is so flippin' beautiful - and I'm not just saying that because a bud of mine designed much of the interior and furnishings either. A very viable alternative - and they have shuttles to The Strip if you don't care to drive 15 minutes.

It's a very nice hotel that is directly linked to three other hotels. It's not the best and other hotels will leave you drooling... but it's way better than most accommodations around the country.

Plus... you're probably not going to be in your room long enough to appreciate (or criticize) the accommodations.

Most hotels offer the same ammenities so it really doesn't matter where you stay because in the end, you will only be using the hotel to sleep and that's it. When you go to Vegas, no one spends time in the hotel rooms.

It's good, especially if there is a UFC fight going on.

The Bellagio is very nice -- but the nicest place now is the Wynn Hotel.

What is the best party hotel in Ibiza?

I am going the third week in September. It is my first time going and I am hoping to have a blast! I want a hotel that is fun--no worries about too many families with children. I also want to be close to the clubs and the beach.

I used to live in Ibiza. Sounds like most hotels in San Antonio would be of your liking with Cafe Del Mar, clubs -Es Paradis and Eden there. Check out Pacha around the Ibiza harbour as it is not the largest club but the one of the oldest and coolest in many peoples' opinion. The two superclubs - Privelege and Amnesia are on the San Antonio to Ibiza Town main road almost across from one another, but be careful not to drunkenly stumble accross the road between them, many road deaths have occurred this way. The below link lists hotels and other stuff to do in Ibiza.

How do I register my hotel with Yahoo Travel?

I own a hotel in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic and I am trying to get it registerd online so we can get more visitors through the web.

http://search.yahoo.com/info/submit.html

I would also recommend submitting your site to the appropriate category at the Open Directory Project - http://dmoz.org/ - as its database is referenced by many different search engines.

Try this category, maybe:

http://dmoz.org/Regional/Caribbean/Dominican_Republic/Travel_and_Tourism/Lodging/Hotels_and_Motels/

One other tip about the ODP, don't submit to too many categories as it may get your site blacklisted.

Good luck.

How do access the AV input in a hotel television to play my xbox 360?

I am in a Sheraton Hotel with a Phillips Hotel television and I tried to play my Xbox 360, but I am not able to connect it. Can you please help?

Check the back of the TV to see if it has component or SCART (in Europe) connectors. Connect to this video port with your Xbox (if youhave the leads with you).

Some of the hotel TV wont let you even try this because of the in house cable system. what i do is i call down to the front desk and have them bring up a second TV. they usually do this with no problems .

How can I get a Hotel discount in Boston at the early Feb?

I want to spend a few days in Boston with my girlfriend in Boston at the early Feb. I did a search from internet and found that Hilton will cause about $200 per night. I wonder how can i find some discount about hotel in Boston?

Thank you!

In most cities you'll find out most cheap hotels are crack and whore spots. I found this out by experience and found them on most every web search site on the internet. They leave that info. out because most have not had employees or staff ever stay at these so called bargain hotels. Honestly I have found out that nation wide, Holiday Inn was the fairest price for the atmosphere and clients they host. In most every one I spent no more than $120 a night. From Chicago, Detroit, Buffalo, Newark, and Salem, Mass. the choice was by far the best. Most of the other chains were far more pricey. Security is also a factor and I was pleased with Holiday Inn. Good luck and enjoy,,,oh,, ask to be high up and facing the city lights,,,Romantic,,,totally.

Try priceline. The thing about trying a "discount" hotel is odds are- you get what you pay for! So, if you try priceline you'll get an expensive hotel at a somewhat reasonable price.

Book it online here: onlinebooking.x10hosting.com

I just check it for you, Hilton hotels in early feb are all below 200$... It's a great site...

i live in boston and every time people visit i recommend they use http://www.travelcusehotels.com to book their stay. the site is an aggregator which means it takes offers from various online sites and shows you the best deals. good luck

Hey check out these websites to find really cheap but yet great hotels in the boston area..

http://boston.nyctourist.com/boston-economy-hotels.php

or

http://www.boston-vacation-hotels.com/boston-hotels-hotel-discounts.php

Good Luck!!

I will advice you to do a search on the site mentioned in the source below. You can get a best deal in any hotel if you are flexible with your dates in February. Try to see which hotels are cheaper on a particular date and you can book according to your budget.

What part of Paris to hotel in for a weekend in Paris?

I am surprising my wife with a weekend in Paris. Can anyone recommend the best area of Paris to look for Hotel accommodation in? Obviously only there for a few days want to make the most of the typical touristy things. I want to stay in a good area, preferably an area that is safe to walk around in at night! Advise about what areas not to stay in would be good too! Thanks alot.

First things first - Paris is a surprisingly small city in tourist terms. Although the suburbs are extensive the city centre doesn't stretch out far and, unlike London, is very easily walkable. I say that because it means the location of your hotel isn't that important because you won't be far from everything anyway.

That said each of the districts has a different feel to it. Everyone has their own preferences and here are mine.

My favourite part is the 6th district which includes the Latin Quarter, Jardin de Luxembourg and the Village of St. Germain-des-pres . The streets here are charming, with lots of quaint shops and delicious patisseries plus there are loads of museums on your doorstep here.

I also really like the 4th district home of the Pompidou Centre and the two islands (Ile St. Louis and Ile de La Cite) where Notre Dame is located.

As far as hotels are concerned neither of these are the cheapest parts of town. I've included a couple of links to Skoosh so you can plot the hotels near both of these areas. I hope you have a great time out there. I'm off to Paris myself today.

Hi i have stayed in 3 different areas of Paris and my favourite one was opera which i visited in July.

The hotel we stayed in was the Golden Tulip opera de noalles (check it out on trip advisor) its located 2 mins walk from the famoursL'opera Garnier and is close to restaurant and Lopera, Auber and Quatre September metro stops. You can walk to the Louvre in 10-15 mins. and Galleries lafayette in about 10 mins

The hotel is small but modern and the staff very attentive, its also a great place for exploring paris from. We walked around at night and event got lost, there are always plenty of people around and we felt very safe, the area is oftern referred to as the grand boulevards.

Enjoy your trip.

Where should I book a hotel in London for a family vacation in March?

What part of London should I book for my hotel during our family vacation? Likely a safe part with lots of tacky tourist shops and stuff. Also, any other additional travel tips for a family from DC going to London for a March vacation (weather, etc) will be much appreciated! Thank you kindly!!

Try to get a hotel located next to a central tube line, so that your trips in and around London will be easy accessible. Holiday Inns and Marriotts seem to have good facilities for the family.

March can still be cold and might rain a lot too. You'll need umbrellas, long coats, scarfs and boots. You might get the odd warm day so bring cardigans or light jumpers you can take off and have long sleeved t-shirts underneath. Women will need tights (pantyhose in US) under skirts to keep the chill out.

For a family, you might find it easier to have serviced apartments rather than a single hotel room. Try:

http://www.apartotels.com/

Another idea is house swapping. There are tons of sites where you can swap your house in DC for a week or two and go and stay in a family home in London - sometimes they leave you the car too. It would mean you have a proper house to stay in and if you've got kids, you swap with someone else with kids so there is toys etc. and a garden. Just an idea, some people are uncomfortable with the thought of strangers in their home.

London is a very big city. There are so many hotels in London. If you are coming as tourists then I would suggest don't book a hotel outside Zone 1 or Central London. Here are some sites where you can book good hotels.

I've stayed in the below mentioned Hotel. They have got great rooms and great service.

If you find hotels very expensive then you can book a hostel. The YHA is a family oriented hostel and there prices are also cheap.

P.S. London is a very expensive city so be prepared to pay high prices for the Hotel.

How come hotel rates are so high in Japan compare to the States?

I stayed at one of Best Wetern here in the states, and it was less than 100 dollars per night (2 queen beds).

And the room was fairly big.

It is almost impossible to find that kind of hotel in Japan...

Why???

Also are there some hotels which have a kitchen???

You really can't directly compare rates between the US and other countries, even for comparable hotels. There are too many different factors. Operating costs can vary due to differences in labor laws, the cost of land, taxes, etc. A hotel can be relatively cheap in one country and a comparable one will be far more expensive in another country.

Exchange rates are a big factor. You'll find that everything in Japan is expensive for Americans because the dollar is weak compared to the yen. It's not just hotels.

As for hotels, there is a secret of dual-price.

As many things in Japan, hotels offer higher price to individual hotel guest, and much lower price to corporate costomer.

For instance, I can stay Celestine near Tokyo tower 16,000 yen per night, but it may costs more or less 23,000 yen if I am not working for my company.

Japanese individuals are not often stay in normal price, stay in cheaper tour price instead.

This is one reason why many Japanese especially middle-aged women prefer tour trips.

If you belongs some company or association, I recommend you to check is there any option of discount available.

Well, isn't that obvious as the property/ land price is higher in Japan due to lack of spaces.

You also possible to find big hotel if you are willing to pay the premium.

You can rent the service apartment in Japan, they call it weekly mansion, just google it, and you will find couple of providers

In this 21st century, I am surprised that here is still this kind of people exists who believes American motel rate is always global standard.

Compared to Moscow, London and San Francisco if you really try to take a look, some hotels provide you room with kitchenette offerring much more reasonable rate in Japan.

The price of living in Japan is a lot higher than in the states, unless its NY or LA... plus there isn't as much space there, so space is more valuable b/c of lack of space (supply/demand)...

And yes there are hotels that offer a kitchen... you just have to find them... they have a certain name to them, like extended stay, where they offer you those items....

1. Standard of living is higher

2. Space, there is less space available as japan is a very dense country

In Japan you can rent a "weekly mansion" which will have kitchen.

What I need to know about Penthouse Pattaya Hotel and any reviews?

Ok i feel that i am going to have the most fun by staying at the Penthouse in Pattaya what should i know about the hotel and the area. Any reviews of this Hotel, and still looking for a good service to do the transportation to and from Bangkok, money is not an issue here it is just about getting there in luxury and not be cramped.

I stayed there, try and go to the pattayatalk.com board, lots of reviews there.

#1 roaches, lots of them, they will get into your bags

#2 the room will be filled with items for sale, the girls that visit you will steal them, and you have to pay at checkout

#3 -0 to no security, anyone can just wakl in and make like they belong there

#4 the transportation service is severly over priced

#5 they may not honor your reservation when you arrive, you are on the street without a room

#6 the food there is expensive, but you will not get sick

Please visit the pattayatalk.com board and get the hotel scoops, you can get a taxi service for about 1200 baht to get you.

Good to have a Thailand SIM card before you arrive, I seen them on ebay for $7

#7 I forgot to mention they have rats and mice in the hotel too. I saw a girl in the hallway screaming in Thai "rat! rat! AAAAaaaah!!!!

How much do you tip for meals that are included with your hotel?

We go to a hotel where the dinners are included. How much do we tip the servers?

Remember that the tip is for the server and it should be about 15-20 % of what the meal would have cost you had it not been included. If you are not sure then you might ask the host/hostess for an idea of the cost to figure your tip.

a few dollars should cover it.

depends on how classy...If I have to wear a dress and I would tip 10 bucks or so or more..

$3-$5

Flat rate tipping is ridiculous!!!!! Tip according to your service...Just because the meal was free doesn't mean the service should be>>>

I would still tip 15 to 20 percent. The servers would appreciate it.

It really depends on the service you get (to me, anyway). If you can tell the person isn't trying to meet your satisfaction, then I'd only tip a few dollars (once again.. it really depends for me). But if they're friendly, but not prying into your conversations I'd tip around 7-10 dollars, or even more, if I thought they were really trying to set a good impression without being too nosy.

What do you think of hotel housekeeping?

I have only worked on the job for two days and I can already tell that it is really physical. My feet hurt at the end of day as I am very tired. The pay is alright seeing how I am sixteen and still in high school. Since I am in training I am working with someone but will start working alone in three weeks. I enjoy working by myself and look forward to this.

If you have any advice, tips, or experience on housekeeping in a hotel share your thoughts :)

Hunny,I will tell you from experience who worked at a housekeeper at a hospital to working at a hotel as a housekeeper. Working alone is great as you are not interacting with people. You have to accept critism especially when you are expected to get rooms done in the time they want them done. They will inspect your work and let you know if you need to go back and re-do any spots you had missed. Hotels are very meticulous with cleaning. Although it is not the glamorous job in the world;(which any job is not). You will find out that eventually in time you will be able to pick up quickly and efficiently. Do they give tips for housekeepers where you work at? If so, you might see anywhere between $1-100 depending on the service of the room. I'm working there temporarily until October then I will be adventuring my way to college since I do not want to clean for the rest of my life.

Physically,Your muscles will be extremely sore for the 1st couple weeks as mine was.I felt like I wanted to die. Once you get home,Take your shoes off and soak your feet, relax in a bathtub or have someone rub your feet.I would recommend getting insoles for your sneakers or get good support shoes.

Hope this helps

It's an honest job for honest pay. What else do you want?

It's a good job for a sixteen year-old. I ran into problems when I worked as a hotel housekeeper because of my boss. She favored her daughter over the other employees. Also, they stole my tips one day (the only day I ever got tips - it was from a bunch of Japanese tourists).

Make sure you have good shoes - sneakers are O.K. if they provide enough support for your feet (look for the ones marked 'Cross-trainers'). When you get home, change your socks and shoes. Soaking your feet in water with some Epsom salts dissolved in it will help too.

Good Luck!

What happens if I lie about the number of occupants in a hotel room to save money?

I'm taking a trip with 3 other people for Spring Break, but we save like $50 total if we lie and say that only 2 people will be in the room for the night. Can the hotel do anything? And how would they know if you do have more than what you said?

If all three of you show up to the front desk and want to check in together (three keys) then they will know. Y'all are going to be sharing a bed, probably, if you don't mention that. If you are booking online, the reason there is a difference is probably because three people means 2 beds or 2 beds and a fold out couch to the computer, but 2 people means 1 big bed. Try calling the hotel instead and asking them for one hotel room with two separate beds (or whatever you want). Don't tell them how many people. If they ask, say two, and be ready to share keys and a bed.

Uhmmmmm....... that is theft and you could be arrested and given a free room for the night. Whomever signs would be the ringleader. You do know all hotels have security cameras in the lots, lobbies and hallways now, right? Don't do it, just stay at a motel 6 or something cheap, or better yet, if you cannot afford to rent a decent room and pay for all of you, stay home?

You will be thrown out and still charged for three. Remember they have your credit card on file. The staff will alert management

What are some things to do in Majorca? What is the best hotel to stay at near the beach?

I am going to Majorca in December and I have no clue what I should do when I get there. Should I even go in December? I dont want to stay at a run down nasty hotel, are there any good ones by the beach?

most of the attractions close in October so there won,t be much to do.

Well, December is pretty cold (15 C) and rainy in Mallorca. It is up to you if to go or not, but I am not so sure that regular swimming would be so much fun. If you're looking for a sunny affordable place in December, try Eilat.

In any case, if you decide to go, you can see hotels in Palma de Mallorca ranked here

Can my family of 6 stay in a hotel room with a 5 guest occupancy?

My family would like to visit Universal Studios Florida this summer and stay in a kidsuite in one of the onsite hotels. There is a five guest limit, but my husband and I have four young children who must sleep in the room with us. Can we still bring them along? Will the hotel allow this? Any suggestions?

if they don't, I just would not tell how many people there are. I have often just not told... unless you have to walk by the front desk to get to your room, you dont' have to say. A family should be able to get one room. It is not like you are sneaking another adult in or a pet. I would call ahead though, without saying who you are and just inquire.

If the sizes of the beds will accommodate your family, I wouldn't even mention to them that you are exceeding the limit. It won't be noticed.

You may need to clarify what you mean because if I understand correctly you have already stated you know that only 5 can occupy the room but you want to have it be 6. There are laws in regards to this - not so the resorts "can make a buck" seriously, just get two rooms that adjoin and keep the connecting door open or rent a room that is large enough to accomodate all of you-there are several suites in the area.

they love to do that so they can charge extra for the 4th kid

Yeah they have no reason not to allow it!

lol hell ya if u want u can sneek in one of ur kids lol

Just dont have everyone walk in at the same time they wont notice, i stood in a room for 6 people with 9 people all togther for a week and we never got caught

When making reservations, ask if 6 can stay in one room. Usually, the hotel accommodates, for an extra fee for an additional person. Enjoy your vacation!

well. the hotel will not allow it..

butt my family all goes to Florida every year.and we drive so on the way there and home we stay in hotels.. and we have put more then 6 in a room. you just don't tell the hotel you have 6 people. if you choose to, you will have to pay a extra fine! which is normally pretty expensive!

Hope that helped you out!

They might charge you an extra fee. they might make you rent a cot or something. If they are young kids, they might not even do that. Just ask. they will likely accomodate you. they certainly don't want to lose business!

You may have to pay an extra price but if the children are very young, they may not include them in the occupancy.

Just stick the kid in the bag, and play dumb

As someone said, room limits are due to fire codes, not to hotel policies...

The possibility exists that a 6th would be legal if it is an infant.

Odds of them making you 'get another room on the spot' would be reduced in the summer since they could be sold out and not have another room available.

The ability to get away with it would be based on how the enforcement is down there. Since Florida has no income tax for it's residents, they get a good bit of their revenue from the sales & resort taxes that come from hotel rooms, so the state might be very inclined to be big on enforcing this, with perhaps increased emphasis on the higher profile resorts rather than the various 'stop & snore' places that litter International Drive & Rt. 192.

I would give them a call and check. It may depend on the age of the children. Most likely they will allow it, but check before you make the reservation.

actually you should follow the maximum occupancy the hotel sets out for the room type. it is fire code to only allow a certain amount of people in a room. you can try it but they will most likely make you pay for a 2nd room if they figure it out. you can get 2 rooms that have a connecting door that will allow you to enter into the 2nd room with out going into the hallway.

hope this helps.

they want your $$$$$$

bring whomever you want.

Call the hotel and ask them - I think most hotels don't count children under a certain age.

Personally, if you just check in as 5 people, and bring the little kid, they shouldn't notice. If you keep them under control they shouldn't be checking on you, so they shouldn't find out. That's the way most people do it.

If you're worried, call the hotel and just ask questions, without giving out your information. That way if they say "no" you can still "cheat" since they won't know who called.

good luck!

What does the general population think about being a Housekeeper in a hotel?

I just checked out of my Hotel today, and I saw a Housekeeper cleaning one of the elevators. She was real pleasant, and nice to me. Do people look down on Housekeepers, or do they have respect for them? Personally, I couldn't care less what your profession is, as long as you are a decent and honest person. And please, no smart or rude answers.

I used to be the Front Desk Manager in a hotel. I occassionally had to do housekeeping duty late at night when we needed a room turned over quickly. It is a very hard job. I would never want to do it full-time. Housekeepers are paid very little, are on their feet all day, and are expected to turn over (completely clean) a room in as little as 15 minutes. I have tremendous respect for anyone who works that hard.

we all need jobs.unless we are trained for 2nd gen welfare. if someone does not do that job what will we do ? give her a tip and tell her GOOD JOB!!!

to have decent living you can do any work. nothing wrong to work as a house keeper if you need to run your life and you need money.

anyone who is willing to do a job that I couldn't and do it with a smile everyday gets my respect. it shows that they're doing what they need to do to get by, pay the bills, put food on the table. a**holes with access to daddy's credit card and mummy's good graces deserve a swift kick to the head, reapeatedly.

no i don't look down at housekeeping because me my daughter and my son's girlfriend have all done houkeing and we all liked it

In my opinion, Housekeepers are the greatest people around!! I mean, who could disagree? First of all, if there were no Housekeepers to clean the Hotel, then we wouldn't have clean rooms, and nice accommodations. Second, all of the Housekeepers that I have encountered have been really nice, outgoing, and sweet. They have GREAT personalities! Third, they have to stand on their feet almost ALL day, and they don't get paid for the effort, and the hard work,( Not like they should be getting paid). And last, I think that Housekeepers are great people because when you need or want something, they are instantly there to get it for you. I mean, sure, that's their job, but who says that when they do bring something extra up to your room for you that they have to bring it with a smile? To me, that it even more rewarding than to actually receive the merchandise that I have requested.

Genereally not many people place value for them!

To me, everybody worth a job; each job (not illegal one) has its value.

It's nice and very kind of you to put your eyes on them while some don't even care! The world is not fair. Oops! It's like that so far.

I agree with you 100%. As long as the person is honest and does a good job, I could care less what your profession is. I have a regular Hampton Inn I stay at for business, and the cleaning staff has been great. It's kind of funny, as they weren't taking the tip money I left them the first few times I stayed.

I'm 18 and I started my own cleaning business. I don't clean at hotels, but I do houses around my area. I make anywhere from $10-25 an hour....a lot of people who are 30 don't even make $25 an hour. I think cleaning is great. All of my clients have a lot of respect for me and trust me with their belongings. I've never stolen anything out of anyone's home----even when I saw a safe open in a closet full of $100 bills.

I used to be a housekeeper in a small motel a mom and pop business . Its very hard work but very rewarding if you like to help people and clean up .sometime we'd get some real piggy people but its the one who are nice to you and appreciate your work that make it rewarding

How to book taipei hotel and when is the best time to visit taipei??

I am planning to go taipei this year but i don know when is the best time to go?

Thinking of staying at East Dragon Hotel or TS Hotel(are they good)? Any other recommendation? And how should i book these hotel?

Any places that i cant miss other than wufenpu and shilin night market?

The best time to go is go during the summer and autumn period in Taiwan, which is June to October period, where the weather is not that cold compared to other months.

As for booking of hotels, you can type the name of the hotel in the Yahoo! Taiwan and search for it. You can also book you hotel online at http://www.eztravel.com.tw/ or http://www.easytravel.com.tw/ (both in traditional chinese) for special deals on the above mentioned hotels. For hotel, I always stayed at Kingshi Hotel, which is located at the heart of Hsi Men Ding and its an affordable 3 star hotel and its very near to its metro station.

As for places, this have to depends on what kind of interest you have, but the few places I recommend to you are:

Martyr's Shrine, Peitou Hotspring area, Yangmingshan National Park, National Museum of Taiwan, National Palace Museum etc. Anyway, hope all the above can help you a little and if you need more help on Taipei, you can contact me by visiting my profile page.

You can search and choose hotel information, rates and availability for free in over 200 countries world wide at my profile.

Why not come to visit Taichung city,i can be your guide.

East Dragon and TS are both good. TS is a nice family run hotel. My folks stayed there for 8 nights and really liked it. Very convenient.

The National Palace Museum is excellent. If you can take the train to Hualien, you can rent out a taxi for the day fairly cheap to take you up to Tairoko(?) Gorge. It is beautiful up there. You can make it a day trip with careful planning.
