What does it take to begin a career in a 5 star hotel?

What kind of education? I am starting my 2 year diploma program in hotel management and I wanna move to California or Florida, pretty much any place which is live and has great weather.

Apply to any Fairmont Hotel Chain. Take any job you can....while you are on spring break and summer holidays from school...then work your way up...I know many people who only have experience, and no formal training who run hotels all over the world...but to have both education and experience you will do well!! Always be friendly...always work hard and keep even the people you work with as a low level service person in your good graces..as you never know who will be promoted over you one day!! Good luck!
