Hotels get sued all the time ... it's part of our sue happy society.
Let me see what I can find.
This is the most widley used hospitality law website ... I've searched the site and can not find anything on this story ... but that doesn't mean that it didn't happen. http://www.hospitalitylawyer.com/
I work in hotels during the evening shift. We reccomend taxis all the time. I am about to start hospitality training, however I have never heard anything about this. It would seem a little odd that a hotel can be held responsible for a taxi company... I know that it's in the hotel's best interest to use someone who's trusted, but I wouldn't see how a hotel can be held accountable for another person's action that they do not employ.
I would be curious to see some legitimacy on this one! I call taxis for people all the time.... kinda scary if that is true!
