How far from the Sahara Hotel on strip to Downtown Fremont in Vegas?

Going to Vegas next week, and I would like to take a nice run from the Sahara hotel to Downtown, like Vegas Club area. How far is it, and what would be the best (and safest...I am female!) route? Thanks!

The mile between Sahara and Fremont is NOT the best area of Vegas. Definitely wouldn't walk (or run) it. If you want to go downtown, take the deuce. Check and see if Sahara has a fitness center.

It's about 3 miles to Fremont. If you don't have a vehicle available then the cheapest and also safe way to Fremont is the city bus (Deuce) the stop is just outside the strip entrance to the Sahara. Currently you can get a $5 - 24 hour pass for the Deuce. On your way back from Fremont you can jump off and on the bus at other places going South on the strip including the Stratosphere, Circus Circus and other places all the way down the strip then jump back on the bus going North bound on the strip hitting all of the other casinos until your back to Sahara.

It would cost about $12-15 each way by taxi.

I go to LV 2 times a year. I always use the Deuce.

Do NOT walk to Fremont.

It does take longer by bus then taxi but it leaves more money in your pocket for the other fun things in LV.

As far a safety, the Deuce is like any other transportation including walking. Take only the money you need for the day, leave your extra cash, plastic, etc in the safe in your room. Keep your hand on your purse and be sure it has a zipper closure.

Traveling and visiting in LV is no different then NY, Chicago, or even the smaller cities in the US. Be aware of you surroundings and you will be fine.

It's 2 miles from the Sahara to Fremont Street.

.2 of a mile from the Sahara to the Stratophere then 1.8miles on to Fremont Street. That's according to the CAT/Deuce bus site

I would not recommend running in that area.

Fremont Street is very safe, and the strip is very safe but there are some areas that you would be wise to avoid.

If you run early(5am)** or so, you could get the same run(distance) in by running south on the strip up to around the Venetian and back. The scenery would be much nicer as well.

**There is very-very little foot traffic in that area of the strip, at that time of the morning.

Las Vegas has some very nice city parks, some have walking/jogging tracks, that would be my recommendation.

I've walked it... right down las vegas blvd ... I didnt feel unsafe at all. I'm a female also. I dunno how far it is, but its not bad..took me a couple hours to walk it -- but i kept stopping at shops along the way. I probably wouldn't do it at night -- but during the day, you will be fine.

That is not an area to run, there is heavy traffic. It is about 4 miles to Downtown, going straight down Las Vegas Boulevard South. DO NOT do it at night, period

yeah, that is not a good neighborhood. Take the Deuce. You don't want to run for exercise up that way.....
