If all three of you show up to the front desk and want to check in together (three keys) then they will know. Y'all are going to be sharing a bed, probably, if you don't mention that. If you are booking online, the reason there is a difference is probably because three people means 2 beds or 2 beds and a fold out couch to the computer, but 2 people means 1 big bed. Try calling the hotel instead and asking them for one hotel room with two separate beds (or whatever you want). Don't tell them how many people. If they ask, say two, and be ready to share keys and a bed.
Uhmmmmm....... that is theft and you could be arrested and given a free room for the night. Whomever signs would be the ringleader. You do know all hotels have security cameras in the lots, lobbies and hallways now, right? Don't do it, just stay at a motel 6 or something cheap, or better yet, if you cannot afford to rent a decent room and pay for all of you, stay home?
You will be thrown out and still charged for three. Remember they have your credit card on file. The staff will alert management
