What is the cheapest and cleanest hotel in Manhattan area?

I'm considering visit NY, but I don't want to stay in NJ, Brooklyn, Queens, etc..I would to stay in Manhattan but its very difficult to find any clean hotel and cheap at the same time..or relative cheap, I'm not looking for luxury but and don't want fleas and rats either.

You can try some of the hostels in Manhattan. They are quite cheap and clean. Perfect to spend a night if you would be out for sight seeing most of the day.

I had stayed in hostel in China Town once while traveling in New York. It was very clean, staff was very friendly, and it was a convenient place to stay
