How to convert bad smell in the hotel lobby to good smell?

I am assigned to make a research on how to convert bad smell in the hotel lobby to good smell. Is there a process to follow in converting them than just spraying air freshener?

I would definitely check into the air filtration system it might be coming from the ducts who need a good cleaning as well for the cleaning of the filters.

Also, if any vacuuming is done in that area that the vacuum are clean, maintained and their bags are replaced on a regular basis.

Use a fabric freshener (like Febreeze) for the furniture to eliminate any smell. Hope it help you!

The carpets would definetly need to be cleaned and air circulation is a BIG issue. The air fresheners that hang on the wall that can be set to disperse every few minutes are great too- just not anything too overpowering as some people may have breathing problems. Air circulation in a place that is closed up alot due to the A/C being on, etc is a big factor. And like the other person said- the filtration system itself needs to be in check, clean filters etc. They also little bags that you can put around (damp-rid is one). A dehumidifier will help with the dampness that is caused by an a/c running all the time- which is a big issue with smell.

The really bad smell is usually from the manager's kitchen. The food might taste great but the smell of curry really lingers.

If it has carpet there maybe mold and mildew underneath of it. First try a professional deep cleaning and then regularly use baking soda or other carpet powder on carpet before vacuuming. You may have to pull the carpet in a corner to check for the mold and mildew.

If there is no carpet then you should check the floor mats.

Also, drop ceilings sometime have leaks above them that may have mold and mildew.

I don't know what else is in your lobby, but look for hidden areas that may have moisture. That is usually the first place to look.

Vinegar, ammonia, and baking soda are good at removing odors. Bleach is good for killing mold and mildew, but do not use around things like carpet, drapes, and wallpaper because obviously it will BLEACH them!

Good Luck!
