If I book a hotel room for a single occupant, what happens if someone else stays with me?

It's cheaper if you book a hotel room as single occupant, so is there any problem with doing that, and then double occupying the room (if the single bed is not a problem)?

no,you just don't have the towels for two, that's all.

Just be careful as some places will charge for the extra occupant if they find out! But they won't file charges or kick you out or anything, if that's what is worrying you.

And while it might seem cheaper, if two people split the cost of a double room it's actually cheaper than one person paying for a single!

Its good to declare the extra person and book for a double room, its a bit more than a single room and your concience is clear. Unless the extra person is illegal.

There is always the safety factor involved. The amount of guests are usually reported in case of a disaster and they know how many are accounted for. If you have a quick exit then prob nothing to worry about
