What taxes aside from VAT am I to expect from a hotel in London?

My hotel reservation email tells me the price shown is exclusive of V.A.T. (17.5%) and taxes.

What other taxes are there?

just VAT at 17-5% as with the other posters .............you may find a service charge but thats opional similar to giveing a tip...........however I've only noticed that in restaurants........some charge for using a credit card so check that out too

I don't think I've ever been quoted a hotel price exclusive of VAT. It sounds like they're trying to make the hotel sound cheaper than it is. Beware - they're clearly up to no good. All prices in the UK are normally quoted with VAT. There should be no other charges unless you've not checked out on time or used something from the mini bar, ordered newspapers or watched some pay movies.

None everything is covered by VAT the only other thing you may come across is eating out in resturants will be the service charge (imposed tip) but the bill must clearly state the amount. It will also be at the bottom of the menu

Just the 17.5 VAT...if they try and charge you any more for tax they are trying to rip you off and you should refuse to pay it.

Taxes are usaully inclusive and you have to ask for vat paperwork!

None - it's not like the states.
