But....
When I last stayed at the Boardwalk Villas, I brought my work laptop with me that had wireless capability. I sat at a table in my room or on the balcony, turned on my wireless, and was able to pick up a usable signal that let me on the internet (no charge). It must have been picking up a signal from a nearby town or outside source that had free wi-fi.
All Disney resorts have in-room High-Speed Internet Access. Fee: $9.95 for a contiguous 24 hour period at Walt Disney World resorts. The WDW Swan and Dolphin charge $12.74 for 24 contiguous hours (tax included).
Wi-Fi is available at certain Disney resorts. Fee: $4.99 for the first 60 minutes or $9.95 for 24 contiguous hours.

If you are a Disney Vacation Club member, then you do not have to pay anything. However, if you are not a DVC member, then the cost is $9.99 per 24-hour period. The cable to connect the computer to the outlet can be found in the room closet.
I am going in two weeks and the hotel I am staying at has free wi-fi. It depends on what hotel you are staying at.
Just returned and every hotel is offering free WiFi.
You pay $9.99 per 24 hour period.
