I think this is your responsibility. A flood is an act of God, and your landlord is not responsible for what God does. Of course the insurance is going to tell you it's the landlord's responsibility, they don't have to pay then.
If you have insurance, go after them. Get a lawyer, or threaten to inform the insurance commission of their refusal.
I think they have an obligation to pay, as you have an obligation to pay the premium.

Probably not. He should give you a prorate on your rent though. You should have bought renters insurance. Sorry to give you the bad news.
If you can get your insurance company to put this IN WRITING
you have a good case to support reimbursement of any
out of pocket expense you have.
Does you policy cover flooding....If not your insurance is not
responsible......
Maybe you can get a copy of the repair that was done and what
was done.......this might be able to help if you have to persue
it through the courts......
Renters Insurance is there to reimburse you for the money and damages your out. The landlords insurance will only cover the damages to the building itself. So your insurance company should reimburse you and then go after either the landlord or plumber whichever is at fault. But now for the bad news....you didn't say why your unit is flooded. And most insurance doesn't cover flooding unless you pay extra for the coverage if the flooding is an "act of GOD" which puts you back at square one. Most landlords will do whatever it takes within reason to make it right for a good tenant. Good luck with that tho.
