What is the tax rate charged for staying at a hotel in South Carolina?

One would think this information would be readily available but apparently not! I am traveling to SC for business soon and just need to know the tax rate charged on hotel rooms so I can ask my employer for the correct amount to be advanced to me. I don't need to know what it's called, the history, the reason or anything else. I don't care. There are entire websites devoted to discussing SC tax code, yet none provide numbers!
