Will my boyfriend be safe in a hotel during the hurricane in College Station?

My boyfriend is working in College Station right now and was unable to prepare travel arrangements to leave there. He is staying in a hotel by texas A&M will he be ok there? People are telling me that a hotel is the safest place to be are they just trying to keep me from freaking out??? Please someone let me know

Well in all seriousness, considering I live here, we are not in the evacuation zone that most of Southeastern Texas is. So in all actuality your boyfriend will be perfectly fine. They are even moving mentally impaired patients from Galveston to Bryan, Texas (Which is next to College Station). And I have heard of no one leaving or evacuating, the only reason people are leaving is to go help there parent board up homes in Galveston and the surrounding areas.

The Wind there is 65-80MPH in college station area..

He should be ok. but if things go wrong tell him to be prepare get everything ready... and move tour austin.
